Travel Stairway Photo Wall

I thought it would be fun to blog about some different photo projects I have done. I really enjoy doing photo projects, and I've done a lot of them, so maybe in my next few posts, I can show you some of the projects that I've done and and do some DIYs on how I did them.

About a year ago, I blogged about how to do a stairway photo wall, but in that post, I had not put any pictures in the frames yet.  I ended up using pictures from some of the places my husband and I have travelled to, and I labelled the name of the place, and the year we visited the place at the bottom of each photo.  I did this using Pixelmator, but there are a lot of other programs you could use to do the same thing.  After I did that, I had the pictures printed out at Wall-Mart.

I think it ended up turning out really well!  It looks really nice, and it's fun to walk up and down the stairs, and look back at the places my husband and I have visited.  If you'd like to know how I did it, go check out my blogpost, "How to do a Stairway Photo Wall."

12 Months of Dates DIY Gift Idea

I found this idea on Pinterest, and made it for my husband as a Christmas gift.  It's called, "12 Months of Dates."  There is a cute poem and cards that you can print out with each month on them.  On the cards, you can fill in whatever date you think would be fun for that month.  Here are the dates that I used in case anyone is looking for ideas.

January - Dinner Downtown and Ice Cream for Dessert
February - Game Night
March - Stay at Home Date (Dinner and a Movie)
April - Coffee Shop
May - Fancy Restaurant
June - Double Date
July - Dinner with Molly, our dog (Restaurant that has outdoor seating and allows dogs)
August - Hike and a Picnic
September - Shopping and Dinner
October - Random Date
November - Concert
December - Dinner in a Different City

She has some more date ideas on her website.  You could also buy the gift cards or tickets ahead of time which would motivate you to actually go out on all of the dates.  Here's the link for anyone who is interested.

Aqua Blue Wedding

Here are some pictures from our aqua blue wedding in case anyone is looking for ideas.

Andrew and I

My Wedding Dress.  I found my dress at a local bridal store.

Andrew's tux.  He wore a black tux with a white vest and tie.

Our Wedding Party. The flower girl's family picked out her dress and the ring bearer wore an old tux that Andrew's brother wore when he was a ring bearer in his aunt's wedding.

Me with my Bridesmaids. Two of the bridesmaids wore matching aqua dresses and my sister wore an aqua maternity dress because she was pregnant with my nephew at the time.

Andrew with his Groomsmen.  The Groomsmen wore black tuxes with aqua vests and ties.

Andrew and I with our Parents. Our dads wore black tuxes with silver vests and ties, and our moms picked out their dresses.

We put our bouquets in mason jars with blue marbles on our wedding party table.

Wedding Table Display (pictures from each year we dated displayed on a table as you walked into the barn where we had the wedding reception)

A friend of mine did our nails the night before the wedding.  She put small shiny sequins on the tips.

Flower Arrangement on Wedding Food Table

We used a box from Michael's with a swirl flower pattern to store the wedding cards people gave us at the wedding.

Aqua Blue Wedding Bouquet

Decorated Amphitheater

Wedding Centerpiece

Aqua Blue Wedding Alter Flowers

Basket Where We Put Our Wedding Fans

The fans had our engagement pictures on them. We printed off the pictures at Staples, glued them to a large popsicle craft stick, and tied a silver ribbon around each one.

Barn we had our Reception in.  We hung icicle lights on the columns.

Mason jar with flowers from Kroger used as an outdoor decoration

We hung mason jars with flowers from shepherds hooks.

The Easiest Quiche Recipe

-January 2017

Here's how to make Bacon and Cheddar Quiche.  I made this for my sister who just recently had a baby and I thought this would be a nice thing to bring over for her, her husband and kids.  It's super easy to make, and something the kids would eat as well.  I found the recipe on Pinterest.  Go to the link if you'd like more variations!

Bacon & Cheddar Quiche - How to This and That

Ingredients:

  • 6 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Milk
  • 1 lb of Cooked and Chopped Crispy Bacon
  • 1 Cup Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Deep Dish Pie Crust
  • Salt & Pepper

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Fry your bacon and cut it into little pieces.

Whisk the eggs and milk in a large bowl.

Add half of the bacon and half of the cheese to the egg mixture and stir it all together.

Pour the mixture into the piecrust.

Put it in the oven for 20 minutes.

Add the remaining cheese and bacon on top

and place the quiche back into the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

When it’s golden brown and raised, it's done!

Once you take it out of the oven, let it sit for ten minutes, and Enjoy!
