Old Wives' Tales To Predict Baby's Gender (Boy: 11, Girl: 7)

Date:  May 6, 2018

1.     Chinese Calendar (Boy)
2.     Baby’s Heart Rate - Apparently baby girls have faster heartbeats than baby boys. So at your next ultrasound, pay extra attention to your baby’s heart rate. If the heart is beating faster than 140 beats per minute, it’s a girl. If it’s lower then 140 bpm, it’s a boy. (Girl)
3.     Wedding Ring on a String - Have someone dangle the ring over your baby bump and hold it still. If the ring starts to move in circles, you’re having a girl. If it sways from side to side like a pendulum, you’re having a boy. (Girl)
4.     Cold Feet - Are your feet feeling cold now that you are pregnant? If so, you might be expecting a boy. If your feet are as warm as ever, you might be carrying a girl. (Boy)
5.     Carrying High or Low - According to legend, if you’re carrying high, you’re pregnant with a girl. If you’re carrying low, you’re having a boy. (Boy)
6.     The Feel of Your Skin - Supposedly if your skin is drying out more than usual (you have dry hands), you can expect to have a boy. If your skin is silky smooth, you’re having a girl. (Girl)
7.     Moody Vs. Mellow - If you’re feeling a little more moody than you usually are, you might be having a girl because of all of the extra female hormones. If you’re more relaxed and mellow, you’re expecting a boy. (Boy)
8.     Pregnancy Glow - If people around you are commenting on how you are glowing and your complexion is as bright and clear as ever, you could be having a boy. If people are asking if you’re feeling okay or tired and you’re breaking out, you might be having a girl. (Boy)
9.     The Spoon and Fork Test – Tell the pregnant lady to go to another room and hide a spoon and a fork under the couch cushions and when she comes back she has to choose a seat. If she chooses where the spoon is placed, then it’s a girl. If it’s where the fork was placed, then it’s a boy. (Girl)
10.   What Side You Sleep on at Night - North-facing pillows and sleeping on your left side are said to be signs it's a boy; a pillow to the south and sleeping on your right mean a girl. (Boy)
11.   Morning Sickness - Legend predicts that if you have been suffering from excessive nausea and morning sickness during your pregnancy, you’re having a girl. If you didn’t throw up very much or at all throughout your pregnancy, you will have a boy. (Boy)
12.   Headaches - If you are having headaches, you might be carrying a boy. (Boy)
13.   Mother and Father’s Intuition (Boy/Boy)
14.   How Does My Hair Look - If your hair becomes thick, full and glossy, and you look like you stepped out of a Pantene Pro-V commercial, you’re carrying a boy. If your hair is dull, limp and hasn’t gotten any thicker, it’s a girl. The same goes for your body hair. The thicker and more body hair that you grow, you’re having a boy, if it has remained normal, you’re having a girl. (Girl)
15.   Craving Sweet or Salty - If you are craving sweet things like fruit, chocolate and desserts, the stork might be bringing you a baby girl. Cravings for salty, sour (like pretzels, French fries and chips) or even protein-rich foods mean it might be a boy. (Girl)
16.   The Father’s Weight - If your partner is gaining weight alongside you (also known as “sympathy weight”), that could be a sign that you’re carrying a girl. If his weight stays the same, it’s a boy. (Boy)
17.   Skull Theory - Supposedly, boys have larger, blockier foreheads, while girls' heads are rounder. (Girl)
